I originally had Zeynel’s hand being smoked a la the traditional cartoon vampire. I retconned it, as I realised I prefer my vampires’ allergy to the sun to be less cheesy.

This is another nugget from the “who-knows-when prose spinoff”: at this age they sleep in separate beds not for reasons of chastity or physical distance, but that Ayse’s poor bed-sharing etiquette (kicking and blanket stealing) was turning Zeynel ragged from lack of sleep.
