Tweaked the dialogue slightly, only to imply what has happened, instead of stating it explicitly. (Makes more sense with Zeynel’s emotional speaking)

A year later, Ayse is on horseback, dressed for a long expedition back to her home village. She looks on sadly as Zeynel is in tears on the ground, clutching her waist gently, reluctant to let her go.

“Is it me, Ayse? It has to be something wrong with me, for the baby to have miscarried.”

Ayse sighs. She is fighting an internal cocktail of emotions: grief, sadness, and pain at leaving her best friend behind. She says to him, quietly, gently, bluntly, “It’s not your fault. It’s not anybody’s. But… give me time, please? I need my family.”

Zeynel hugs himself, weeping. He knows that she needs this distance (and so does he), and it is for the best. Still… his heart aches, in a way unlike anything he experienced before.
