I had to nerf Ayse’s dialogue a bit to match my understanding of her as a still-uncertain highly ambitious teenager. The 2016 version had her be a total girlboss – which is not far from the truth, but she’s not there yet.
Zeynel’s dialogue is still perfect. <3 Words that make a lady swoon.

Zeynel breathes a sigh of relief. He asks with concern, “Good. What did he say?”
It is now Ayse’s turn to look away into the distance. “He didn’t exactly reject it. But he would rather you continue being an imam, for your sake.”
Zeynel hums, fiddling with the thread in his fingers. “I understand. He spent years training me.” He looks away. “I just wonder how I’m going to convince him…”
Ayse asks, “So you’re serious about trying out as a merchant?”
Zeynel pauses for a long moment, and then speaks unsurely. “I don’t know…”
Ayse places her hands on her hips and glares at him, her lips in a mocking pout. “I don’t know is a funny phrase to say for someone learned like you!”
He squeaks, hands up besides his jaw in an expression of submissive embarrassment. “Ah! Please, I…”
“C’mon Zeynel!” Ayse says, her voice brimming with confident fire. “Be like me! I know what I want. I do all I can. I get it.”
Zeynel slumps and sighs, and he mindlessly untangles the thread wrapped around his right hand. “It’s not easy…” He groans. “You see, the problem is, I don’t have any issue following my family’s wishes, but I really think…” Here he struggles for words. “I want to try doing this but…”
He lets out a loud sigh, then shifts his train of thought. “I’ve never felt this driven in my life, until I came here, and saw your world. I felt like I belonged. I think it’s worth a shot.”
He faces her, and gently bows down to look at this power of a woman, whose fire for life has spread to him. She is round and thickset, with brown hair that gleams auburn in the sunlight, a strong unibrow, and big round eyes that saw everyone and everything without fear. Every part of her is shaped by a homeliness borne of the countryside, as well as a natural regality bursting to manifest. It is this aura that draws Zeynel to Ayse, though he knows not why. Only a feeling that she will guide him to his destiny.
He says to Ayse, “And besides, this will help you right? I will do all I can to bring you and your dream to Istanbul. It’s the least I can do, to thank you.”
Ayse chuckles and folds her arms. “Don’t be so self-indulgent!”
